AnnaMarie was born and raised in a small farming village in The Netherlands, named Ysbrechtum. AnnaMarie and her friends played at nearby farms, milking cows, riding horses, chasing roosters and generally raising hell.
AnnaMarie attended High School nearby a town called Sneek (pronounced Snake). During her senior year she sent a school picture to a magazine that was holding a modeling contest. The winner would receive a contract with a modeling agency in Brussels, Belgium. AnnaMarie didn't win, but she didn't lose either, the agency that was backing the contest offered her a contract as well.
She was well on her way to a very elite modeling career after that one contest. Bouncing around European cities such as Milan, Paris, Madrid, London different cities in Germany, as well as trips throughout North Africa, Australia and eventually America.
It was in Miami that Playboy discovered AnnaMarie. They were in the midst of their search for the 40th anniversary issue Playmate, as well as shooting a pictorial on models who frequent Miami's very hip modeling scene. While searching for models, they found a composite of AnnaMarie, and then proceeded to track her down. AnnaMarie was flattered with what they offered her, but she wasn't interested because she was a "fashion model" and not a "nude model". A few weeks later while in Australia, again they called AnnaMarie to see if she wanted to reconsider. After talking it over with all her family, friends, neighbors, and even her mom, she decided what the hell.. If Marilyn could do it 40 years earlier, then she wasn't in bad company
